Acid Yellow 36/Metanil Yellow is Yellow powder. Soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, benzene and ethylene glycol ether, slightly soluble in acetone. It turns purple in the presence of sulfuric acid, and produces a red precipitate after dilution.
