Industrial polyester yarn refers to a high-strength, coarse-denier polyester industrial filament with a fineness of not less than 550 dtex. According to its performance, it can be divided into high strength low extension type (ordinary standard type), high modulus low shrinkage type, high strength low shrinkage type, and adhesive actived type. Among them, high modulus low shrinkage industrial polyester fibers are gradually replacing ordinary standard industrial polyester fibers in tires and mechanical rubber products due to their excellent properties such as high breaking strength, high elastic modulus, low elongation, and good impact resistance. High strength low elongation industrial polyester fiber has the characteristics of high strength, low elongation, high modulus, and high dry heat shrinkage which is mainly used as tire cord and conveyor belt, canvas warp, and vehicle safety belts and conveyor belts. The high-strength and low-shrinkage type industrial polyester fiber shrinks slightly after being heated, and its fabric or woven rubber product has good dimensional stability and heat resistance stability, can absorb impact load, and has the soft characteristics of nylon. It is mainly used for coating fabrics (advertisement light box cloth, etc.), conveyor belt wefts, etc. Adhesive active industrial polyester fiber is a new type of industrial yarn which has a good affinity with rubber and PVC, which can simplify subsequent processing techniques and greatly improve the quality of products.
The original intention of the development of industrial polyester mutifilament fiber is to use polyester to replace rayon, nylon 6, nylon 66, etc. as the reinforcing frame material of rubber products. These products include radial tire cord fabric, rubber conveyor belt cord fabric, V-belt, transmission belt cord, rubber hose cord and cord fabric, etc.
1. Ordinary radial tire cord fabric standard (ordinary) industrial polyester filament fiber also known as high strength low extension serie which is high strength, low elongation and high thermal shrinkage. The cord fabric woven from this kind of industrial fiber has the characteristics of high strength and low elongation under constant load, but the dry heat shrinkage rate is relatively high. Therefore, when using this kind of cord fabric to make tires, the phenomenon of concave joints is obvious. It must be inflated and shaped and only be vulcanized at room temperature. The vulcanization time is long, the tire scrap rate is high, the production efficiency is low, and the grade of the made tires is low, which cannot meet the requirements of high-performance radial tires.
2. In the field of conveyor belts in recent years especially for coal mine conveyor belts, most of conveyor belts made of high strength low shrinkage industrial polyester fiber as the main skeleton material have the advantages of high strength, thin belt body, good flexibility and groove formation.
1) High impact resistance make the convypor belt has good strength and impact fatigue resistance.
2) The modulus is high so the safety factor of polyester conveyor belt can be lower than that of nylon.
3) Good moisture resistance make the convepor belt can keep the strength unchanged after being damp which is suitable for use in wet mines.
4) The constant load extension is small, the dimensional stability is good, and the conveyor belt tension stroke is small which eliminating the need for readjustment due to stretching deformation.
3. The cord for the V-belt conveyor belt has higher strength and initial modulus than rayon as the cord made of industrial polyester mutifilament fiber after initial twisting, double twisting, and dipping and has good yield fatigue performance. It is widely used in triangle conveyor belts of various specifications.
4. The cord made of industrial polyester mutifilament fiber by twisting and shaping (or dipping) is the most ideal skeleton material for the production of braided hoses and winding hoses. Polyester cord not only has high strength, good dimensional stability, but also has good chemical stability. Unlike vinylon fiber as the skeleton of a hose, it will be resinized when exposed to water which will affect the service life of the hose.
5. The high strength wear resistant industrial polyester fiber products that are technically improved on the original high strength low strength industrial polyester fiber for vehicle safety belts replace imported industrial yarns and are used as special yarns for vehicle safety belts. The safety belt is very scratched, hard-wearing, firm and durable. This product is also widely used in lifting belts.
